Wheels that have been used for anything from XC sprints to 5,000 km expeditions. With the Curve Dirt Hoops, you get the combined excellence of their previous off-road wheels with all new technology, to give you a wheel that can conquer a whole host of off road challenges and will out-perform in the burgeoning worlds of dirt riding and racing.

Mo-Spo Tech

Moulded spoke holes reinforce the spoke at the point of connection with the rim. Reducing the need for a bulk of unecessay material between the spoke holes, making the wheels lighter, but without compromise to the strength of the wheelset! The best of both worlds!

 Chunky Hookless Bead

An additional 5mm foundation has been added to the hookless bead in the dirt hoops, increasing the all important impact strength of the wheelset, useful for when your tackling tough terrain or haring down singletrack!

 Tubeless Ready

Obviously... Tubeless tires are a real winner, on and off road, not only removing much of the inconvenience caused by a puncture but also improving the comfort and ride quality of any bike! Reduce pinch flats, seal small holes, remove the rolling resistance of tubes and improve handling in one easy choice!

DT Swiss hubs & Sapim CX Ray spokes

A winning combination for Curve with no substitute to rival. The bombproof DT Swiss hubs form the basis of all Curve's wheelsets and continue to deliver performance, durability and reliability. Couple these amazing hubs with sapim CX ray spokes and you've got a wheelset that perfectly balances between being a strong wheelset without compromising with a weight penalty. A combination Curve have tried and tested under the harshest conditions without failure.

 What else?

These wheels come ready for your tire of choice! You get them out the box equipped with tubeless rim tape, valves and centre-lock rotor lockings. Simply install tubeless-ready tyres of choice, add sealant and inflate with a tubeless floor pump (so good you don't need any special tubeless pumps!). Then hit the trails!

FAQs

What Tyres Can I Run?

This wheelset gives you a plethora of choice!! A 25mm internal rim Curve recommend with a range of tyres from 1.75" - 2.5" (44mm - 64mm). If you go for the 30mm internal rim then anything from the range of tyres between 2.3" - 3" (58mm to 76mm). Curve suggest these ranges (which give you plenty of options) because some narrower tyres will square off to much on wider rims, and some wider tyres will move around on narrower rims. This is more common at the extremes (eg a knobby 44mm on 25mm internal width)

Why Brass Nipples?

Curve choose brass nipples because they are far less likely to suffer corrosion, which will lead to premature failure. They are durable, serviceable and ideal for extended usage

Can I Customise the Build?

Definitely. We can source the Dirt Hoops from Curve as rim only. You can then configure your wheels any way you want. As long as your hubs of choice are 28h. For more info, email us at curve@girocycles.com

Why only 28h?
Curve believe 28H is ideal for most off-road applications. Through a custom build you can obtain a competitive Weight Weenie-ish XC configurations, right through to a super robust expedition strength wheels utilising the 28H setup.

What Tyre Pressure to Run?

Wow... Curve get asked this so often and they don't even manufacture tyres. Follow the guide on your tyre and have fun experimenting +/- a few PSI's for feel. Head mechanic Danny will hopefully be doing a video on this soon!

What does "ERD" and "Spoke L. F&R NDS & DS" mean?

These secret codes are for the wheel illuminati. ERD stands for Effective Rim Diameter, measured at the spoke hole (external).
"Spoke L. F&R NDS & DS" is the "Length" of spoke for the "Front" and "Rear" "Non-Drive Side" and "Drive Side"
