It’s always been about the ride.
From a young age, cycling has been part of my life. My grandad cycled the track at Herne Hill during the ’40s, which is also where I saw Bradley Wiggins race for the first time.
We are so stoked to formally announce that our coffee will now be supplied by the amazing guys down at Workshop Coffee, based in Bethnal Green, London. We are super excited to be working with Workshop, not only because of the quality of coffee that they produce but the shared idea and the support they will give us to bring you the best coffee possible! If that wasn’t enough, we will be the only place you can come and enjoy Workshop Coffee in Surrey, that’s right, we’re EXCLUSIVE BABY!! In all seriousness, we are really excited to see this new relationship blossom to take us to the next level and have no doubt you will love the end results.
G!RO CYCLES of Esher, Surrey hosted a weekend long event celebrating all things endurance cycling. The primary focus being the Trans Continental Race, insightful stories and expert advice were shared by previous participants regaling both the highs and the lows. Brand representatives from Apidura, Sportful and Curve Cycling were on hand to answer product related questions; making the connection between
man rider and machine.
Sunday was an opportunity for customers and friends of G!RO CYCLES to ride with Kristof Allegaert; a former winner of the Trans Continental and this is where this photographic story begins. (Photo credit: Taylor Tulip-Close)

Picture the scene. It’s a hot sweltering day. You’re out on a ride in need of refreshment. Something only a caffeine based drink will satisfy. Alas, a hot coffee won’t butter no parsnips. What do you do?! Decide on a drink that has the potential to refresh but also the potential to make you bonk on the home straight!? Don’t be ridiculous. Embrace what is the ever growing cold coffee world!

We we would be nothing without people. We pride ourselves on the relationships that we've jointly created, from the people that walk / cycle through our door to the amazing brands and companies that we work with. This has allowed our cycling community to blossom due to the basic principles that we share. Jon Skinner and Paolo Mariani are the absolute definition of this! We're fortunate enough for them to share their company and riding with us. This is their #ridewithmates Cycling Trip to 'The Three Lakes' of Verona, Italy.
"Jon and I met through the fantastic Giro Cycles community. Both of us have similar goals of what we want to get out from cycling - meaningwe rarely disagree on anything about adventures however, for everything else it’s a different story."
Last week we introduced to you guys someone we think is really cool on our socials! For those of you that missed it, we're talking about Jimmy Ashby! This gentlemen is riding around the world on a Curve GXR!!! But what's even cooler is that he's 18 years old and once he completes this ginormous challenge he’ll be the youngest person to ever do this feat unsupported!! He’ll be cycling 29000km, through 18 countries & 4 continents all in aid for Motor Neurone Disease! We wanted to give you some more info on who he is, why he's doing this, how he's doing this, what you can do to help and how you can follow Jimmy on this amazing journey!

The Sommet cycling aim is simple, deliver the best. The best locations and the highest level of customer service. Allow you to switch off and ride. Soak up the culture and immerse yourself in the surroundings away from the crowds. Our trips are curated, researched, not just seeking out the obvious. We stray away from training camps and sportives with the aim to show to around and experience your chosen destination.
Sommet is about the journey and the creation of memories.'
Cycling is a religion here in Belgium, a way of life, a state of mind, a cult. The Tour of Flanders the food to satisfy this hunger. One of the monuments, an iconic one day stage race and arguably the most exciting and brutal race on cycling’s long and varied calendar.
The epic 267km spring classic, features 18 cobbled climbs, these sadistic twists thrown in to punish even the strongest rider are also what make this race so special and unique. The 6 plus hours of this repeated torture will leave even the most spirited of pro riders dead behind the eyes, it becomes a war of attrition.
We headed out to Belgium and our favourite monument to experience this first hand!
