BELGIAN ULTRA-ENDURANCE CYCLING LEGEND, KRISTOF ALLEGAERT HAS JOINED THE CURVE SQUAD.

June 15, 2018

| Today Curve Cycling is excited to announce that Kristof Allegaert has joined the Curve squad. |

If you’re familiar with ultra-endurance cycling, Kristof needs no introduction. Kristof has won the world’s premier sealed-road bikepacking race, The Transcontinental, three times. He won the 2015 edition of the 9,200km Red Bull Trans-Siberian Extreme race. He was leading the inaugural Indian Pacific Wheel Race in 2017 after a brutal 5,000 km showdown with Mike Hall, when the race was cancelled after Mike Hall was tragically killed by a motorist. Kristof’s performances have astounded dot-watchers as much as his opponents.

While the mild-mannered Belgian might play down his achievements, he just doesn’t know how to lose unsupported ultra-endurance events. His style is characterised by a relentless drive to move forward, with an impressive moving average speed coupled with very little rest. He needs a bike he can trust and Curve bikes have been proven in the battlefield of unsupported ultra-endurance racing. From the deserts of Australia to the mountains of the Tour Divide, Curve bikes are designed to perform in the toughest events on the planet. The fit for Kristof is perfect. “I’m excited to ride Curve because they make the bikes I like to ride. It’s back to basics with solid bikes that you can trust under all conditions”, Kristof said.

While Kristof isn’t focussed on racing right now he has a full calendar of exciting adventures planned, with a possible record attempt on the horizon. “There’s a tough, well contested record that I am interested to challenge. The record was achieved with support but I think I might attempt it unsupported. I still have some more research to do first”, Kristof said. We can’t say much more right now, but we are super excited to see what Kristof attacks next.

So with all this great news we're also very excited to announce Kristof will be riding with us here at G!RO on the 1st July! On the 29th, 30th and 1st, we are having a Transcontinental Road Race extravaganza and will be welcoming Apidura & Matt Falconer on the Friday with Beers & BBQ, A Curve Demo day on the Saturday and a ride out with Kristof on the Sunday! It's going to be a be a big one and you'd be crazy to miss it! More details to follow soon...

G!RO’s Guide to Winter - Vol.1 Kitting up!

October 16, 2020

Here at G!RO we love riding… It plays a huge part in our daily lives and is central to the lives of many within our community. We love to #RideWithMates, enjoy a pre-ride, mid-ride or post-ride cafe stop and use the bike as a tool to keep sane and fit. Winter, particularly UK winter, poses a threat to all this. It make’s ticking off the KM’s harder as daylight hours are slowly crushed inwards as we race towards winter solstice and gaps in the grim weather become fewer, and further between. However, here at G!RO we’re dedicated to keeping everyone riding as much as humanly possible, especially this year (2020) with all the challenges and troubles we’ve all had to face - now, more than ever we must cherish the head clearing, blood pumping goodness a bike ride can bring you. We must chase those endorphins as much as we can, and whilst winter will try and sap the goodness away; here at G!RO we’re dedicated to bring you all our favourite tips and tricks to maximise your winter riding and reap the benefits even in deepest, darkest December.

Downrock Diaries - PART 1
Downrock Diaries - PART 1

June 15, 2020

The Curve Downrock honourably lives up to the press Curve give it on their website, not that I’ve seen a frill neck lizard fanging around on hot sand before, but riding this beast has given me fairly clear picture of exactly what this looks like. Look out for me on the dusty hillside of Ranmore this summer, and you’ll never need to watch a nature documentary about a frill neck lizard again.
